
Day 1 of the event kicked off with a warm welcome to Guest of Honor, Mr. Badar Khushnood—co-founder of Fishry and Bramerz, and former Chairman of P@SHA. Students showcased their final-year capstone projects in areas such as artificial intelligence, computer vision, cybersecurity, and web and mobile development. The projects were evaluated by a panel of industry experts, including Usman Ahmad Zia (Vice President, CADM Systems Limited), Zunair Haseeb Khan (Vice President QA Services, Systems Ltd), Dr. Fezan Rasool (Team Lead, Machine Learning, Systems Ltd), Syed Moosa Abidi (Business Analyst, Podium), Mr. Shahbaz Ali (Business Development Manager, INDEX Holding), and Dr. Hafsa Zafar (Assistant Professor, University of Management and Technology). The judges praised the originality, relevance, and technical depth of the student work. On Day 2, Chief Guest Mr. Usman Asif, CEO of Devsinc, joined the event and interacted with students and faculty. Another round of evaluations was conducted by a new panel of judges, including Dr. Hammad Mushtaq (Chief Technology Officer, Connective Ltd.), Zeeshan Jamil (Associate Director, Dialer Management), Yahya Mahmood (Web Developer, Chakor), Mr. Saud Junaid (Senior DevOps Engineer, Ninja), Syed Asad Raza (Senior DevOps Engineer, Tkxel), Mr. Asad Ullah (Senior Software Engineer, i2c Inc.), Mr. Saad Ur Rehman (Full Stack Developer, DFX5), and Dr. Qurat Ul Ain Akram (Assistant Professor, University of Engineering and Technology). The diverse range of projects demonstrated students’ ability to tackle real-world challenges with innovative technical solutions. The showcase concluded with an inspiring award ceremony, where outstanding projects were honored in categories including Best Final Year Project, Runner-up, and Popular Choice Award. The Best Final Year Project Award went to Ibraheem Omer and Huzaifa Ejaz for their "Social Sense" project, a GenAI-powered classifier for multilingual social media comments. The Runner-Up Prize was awarded to Umair Ali Khan and Muhammad Fahad for "Shot Sense," an AI and GenAI-powered batting coach app. The Best AI Research Project Award was presented to Wahab Sami, Fatima Abbas, and Mohsin Sabir for their innovative work on predicting malaria outbreaks in South Asia and Nigeria. The event underscored the students’ ability to push the boundaries of technology, showcasing BNU's role in nurturing future leaders in the tech industry.

Mr. Asif Peer delivered an insightful discourse on the "Future of Information Technology" at Beaconhouse National University (BNU) as part of the ongoing BNU Talks: Distinguished Lecture Series organized by SCIT. Mr. Asif Peer, a distinguished figure in the Information Technology sector, currently holds esteemed positions as CEO, Managing Director, and Member of the Board of Directors at Systems Limited. Mr. Peer has played a pivotal role in shaping the growth and success of Systems Limited, executing strategic initiatives in alignment with the company's vision and mission. Under Mr. Asif Peer's leadership, Systems Limited has won four consecutive Forbes Asia's Best Under a Billion awards (2020-23). His dedication and leadership have propelled Systems Limited to new heights, earning accolades such as the Microsoft Business Applications Inner Circle and Asia Money's Most Outstanding Company award for three consecutive years (2021-2023), along with SAP EMEA awards, PSEB IT Export Awards, and multiple P@SHA ICT Awards. During his recent address at the Distinguished Lecture Series organized by the School of Computer & IT (SCIT) on February 20th, 2024, Mr. Peer expounded upon the imperative of establishing a robust groundwork in core computing concepts. Beaconhouse National University (BNU) takes immense pride in announcing the noteworthy achievements of its School of Computer and Information Technology (SCT) students at the All Punjab Universities Expo 2023, held at the Expo Center Lahore. Amongst the 44 participating universities, BNU SCT stood out prominently, showcasing three exceptional projects that garnered attention and acclaim. SocialSense, developed by Ibraheem Omer & Huzaifa Ejaz, presented a groundbreaking social media comments classifier utilizing Generative AI to excel in both Urdu and English. Ammara Amin & Awais Ameen's "Bolt" introduced a locally sourced 3D printer prototype meticulously designed for accessibility to our local audience. Additionally, Jahanzaib Tanveer & Hamza Leghari impressed with "PlayTube," a captivating web gaming platform. The culmination of this success was SocialSense clinching the 1st prize in the IT & CS category, earning a prestigious Rs. 100,000 and securing a coveted spot in the upcoming China Expo. This victory is particularly commendable, considering the intense competition with over 800 applicants, 450 shortlisted projects, and representation from 48 universities across eight project categories. BNU extends a resounding congratulations to all the SCIT students from the 3rd and 4th years who actively participated in the event, contributing significantly to the dynamic showcase of innovation.
