The BNU Residential Summer program is open to students of:

• Grade 8 graduates and above
• Up to Intermediate, A level, and IB Diploma students
• O Level, Matriculation, and IB MYP, A Level, FSc, and IBDP
• Students who are currently enrolled in a bachelor's program are not eligible

• Total number of class days: 12 (6 days per week)
• Number of classes per day: 5 on Weekdays and 2 classes on Saturday
• Batch size for each class: 60-70
• Breakfast: 8:00 am - 9:00 am

The courses offered in this program are briefly outlined below:

• Finding Your Voice:
  This course aims to equip students with effective and practical communication and conversational skills to use in the classroom and one-on-one situations in academic, professional, and social situations. They will build their confidence as they take part in classroom discussions and interactive activities. By the end of the course, students will also learn how to work in collaboration with their peers in groups and be able to articulate their ideas and voice their opinions in different settings, while showing respect and tolerance for the difference of opinion.

• Money Matters:
  Serving as an introductory course in the world of financial decision-making and financial literacy, this course will help prepare students for adult life through foundational knowledge of wealth and how it is created, managing finances, the skills required for financial decision-making, and the basics of entrepreneurship.

• A Better You: Essential Life Skills:
  This course aims to improve students’ interpersonal skills and to equip them with readily available tools needed to deal with the challenges and demands of their daily lives, from managing their emotions to personal health and hygiene to making informed decisions. Through this course, students will come closer to realizing their true potential through building healthy relationships, empathizing with others, and coping with and managing their lives in a healthy and productive manner.

• Digital Design:
  This course is aimed at anyone with an interest in art and design, keen to explore the world of digital design. Whether students are interested in pursuing further education in art or are just looking to learn a new skill, this course will equip them with a broader understanding of digital design through basic theory and practical knowledge of how to use graphic design software, such as Adobe Photoshop.

• How the World Works: A Global Perspective:
  This course aims to introduce students to complex concepts, such as global politics, macro-economy, and globalization, in a fun, and easy-to-understand way. Through this course, students will learn about their place as global citizens, setting the foundations and equipping them with essential knowledge needed to better understand the changing world.

• Tech-Forward: Discovering Future Technologies:
  With the tech industry being one of the most vibrant and fast-growing in the world, tech skills are becoming increasingly valuable. For students interested in pursuing a tech career or simply looking to develop new skills, this course will introduce them to the basics of Coding, AI, Virtual Reality, and Data Science, equipping them to better understand technologies of the future that will shape the world.

• Architecture 101: From Sketch to Structure:
  This course aims to introduce students to the world of architecture, through the foundational theory of architecture and hands-on experience of crafting their design ideas through fun and unique art-making projects. Students will learn about the various styles and creative processes of world-renowned architects through exciting drawing and building exercises that will allow them to explore their own imagination while being inspired by incredible architecture from the past and present.

• Journalism & New Media:
  This course offers a comprehensive overview of journalism studies and practice in today’s changing media landscape, offering students a historical perspective on the development of journalism theories, a comparative view of how journalism varies in Asia and the West, hands-on workshops to master writing for print, broadcast and online media, and a look into the future of journalism in the digital age, where automated technologies and artificial intelligence work alongside journalists in newsrooms.

Listed below are details of the twin-sharing boarding facilities available for students at BNU. Boarding rooms are equipped with a bed, desk, chair, wall mirror, wardrobe/closet, light, and an electricity port outlet. Please note that students are NOT allowed to nail or use screws for hanging items.

  *Note: Students are responsible for the cleanliness of their rooms, with hostel administration conducting weekly checks over weekends. Additionally, all student residents should bring their own bedding basics such as bed linens, pillows, pillow covers, and comforters. For those in need, the university offers a bedding set including a pillow with cover and bed linen for Rs. 8,200.

• Cafeteria Facilities:
  Students will be provided 3 healthy meals per day (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) inclusive in the 2-week summer program at designated times. The meals will be pre-decided and the daily menu will be shared/displayed at the cafeteria. In addition, the cafeteria has a tuck shop for routine purchasable items which the students can purchase from.

• Campus Facilities:
• Common Room
  Each residential facility features common rooms with large-screen TVs and comfortable seating. All common rooms are air-conditioned. Students should keep in mind the following rules:
  - Timings: Until 11:00 pm.
  - Residents are only allowed to sleep in the lounges during the summer months.
  - Personal belongings should not be left unattended in the common spaces.
  - The University cannot be held responsible in case of loss of personal property.
  - Edibles (Food and Drinks) are not allowed in the common room.

• Health Centre
  BNU offers a primary care facility to its students, faculty, and staff through its on- campus Health Centre supported by Chughtai Homecare. The Clinic provides services of regular checkups and basic medical screening to our faculty, staff, and students. The Clinic is manned by an on-duty Doctor during the university’s operational hours and round-the-clock availability of trained paramedics and nursing staff.
  Note: Students may only bring prescribed medication along with the prescription.

• Pantry
  Pantries are located on every floor and are equipped with a refrigerator, water cooler, microwave oven, toaster, and iron. Please remember that these are for the use of all building residents. Common courtesy requires that each user cleans up after using the facility.

• Library
  BNU has a state-of-the-art library to serve the faculty, students, and researchers. Students will have full access to the library, which has an extensive collection of printed and electronic books, electronic journals, magazines, catalogs, and various other resources.

• Resource Centre
  The on-campus Resource Centre caters to students’ requirements for printing, stationary and photocopying services, etc.

• IT Resource Centre
  The IT Resource Centre at BNU offers top-of-the-line IT services to facilitate students, faculty, and staff at the campus, including state-of-the-art, high-speed computer labs with more than 300 kiosks to facilitate students, and a digital library.

• Sports
  The Sports Department at BNU offers a wide range of fully equipped sports facilities including:
  - Football Ground
  - Cricket Ground
  - Pitches for cricket net practice
  - Basketball court
  - Volleyball court (Grass court)
  - Outdoor badminton courts (Grass courts)
  - Table tennis tables

• Laundry:
  Laundry services will be provided to all students and the residents will be responsible for collecting from and dropping laundry to the laundry room located in the designated residential area. Laundry services are available twice a week on specific days as specified in their orientation pack.
  Please note that laundry cannot be hung out to dry on the balconies.

• Visitation:
  Students are advised to strictly observe the curfew hours. No hostel resident student is allowed to stay out of the hostel after 11:00 pm or the time notified otherwise.
  If a student wishes to have visitors, written permission from the parent(s) should be submitted to the Hostel Warden at least a day in advance. After approval, students will be allowed to meet the visitor for one hour on campus.
