Professor Rashid Rana, as the esteemed chairholder, has been at the forefront of transforming Pakistan's art scene since the onset of the 21st century. His influence extends across various roles, including artist, curator, educator, and visionary. As the longest-serving member of the BNU community, he holds the distinction of being the university's inaugural faculty member who laid the groundwork for the SVAD vision and curriculum over the span of 21 years. His efforts have shaped a student-centric approach to art and design education within the region. Professor Rana's commitment to diversity and interdisciplinary collaboration has led to the creation of the Interdisciplinary Expanded Design and Art program, a degree unparalleled in the region.
