Liberal Arts student Hania Imran has secured a prestigious $5,000 grant from the Re-Earth Initiative after a highly competitive international process involving more than 1,900 applicants. The award will support a climate camp project through Youth Climate Activists Pakistan (YCAPK), an organization she founded and leads, marking a significant milestone for youth-led climate action in Pakistan.

Beaconhouse National University successfully hosted the Pakistan History Workshop 2025, a three-day academic gathering organised by the Seeta Majeed School of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences. Bringing together scholars from Pakistan and abroad, the workshop fostered interdisciplinary dialogue, critical historical inquiry, and collaborative engagement across diverse perspectives.

On November 13, 2025, Dr. Tahir Kamran was the guest speaker at UMT’s Iqbal Day, delivering a nuanced talk on understanding Iqbal’s poetry within its broader colonial context. He emphasized how Iqbal’s concept of Khudi continues to shape modern debates on selfhood, identity, and intellectual resistance across the 21st century.

On November 11, 2025, the Department of Liberal Arts hosted the launch of the Routledge volume “75 Years After Partition: India, Pakistan and Bangladesh”, co-edited by Dr. Farooq Sulehria and Amit Ranjan, bringing scholars, students, and guests together for rigorous reflection on Partition’s enduring regional legacies and historical intellectual debate.

Alishba Umar, a student from Liberal Arts & Social Sciences at Beaconhouse National University, was invited as a judge for the poetry category at Grammarfest, the flagship arts event of LGS Paragon, held from 7–9 November 2025, featuring competitive rounds that celebrated emerging voices and creative excellence among school students.

The Department of Liberal Arts at the Seeta Majeed School of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences (SMSLASS), Beaconhouse National University, hosted an engaging talk with Mr. Ahmed Bilal Mehboob, Founder of PILDAT and columnist for Dawn, on “Constitution and Politics in Pakistan: Problems, Challenges, and the Path to Democratic Solutions.” The event provided an enriching platform for students to explore key issues shaping Pakistan’s democratic landscape.

On 11 October 2025, DLA students Rehman Kabir Khar and Shazeen Saeed were appointed student ambassadors for the Lahore Academic Alliance for Climate Action (LAACA), an interdisciplinary initiative by the University of Lahore under the Center for Security, Strategy, and Policy Research, focused on collaborative climate research and student leadership.

On October 2, 2025, Dr. Tahir Kamran delivered an insightful book talk on Chequered Pasts (2024) at FC College, engaging students and faculty in a rigorous dialogue on Pakistan’s historical evolution and complex political trajectory, from ancient civilizations to contemporary socio-political realities.

On 25–26 August 2025, the National School of Public Policy (NSPP) hosted its 3rd annual Public Policy Conference on “Artificial Intelligence in Public Policy and Governance” in Lahore, where Dr. Zainab Ahmed and Mr. Mansoor Ahmad Khan, former ambassador and Director of BNU Center for Policy Research, participated as key discussants on AI and national security.

On 23 August 2025, the Lahore Museum History Society hosted Lecture 3, Partition and Migration, part of the series From Partition to Constitution: Unfolding the Making of Pakistan, featuring Dr Tahir Kamran and fellow scholars in a rigorous discussion on Partition, migration, and Pakistan’s historical formation and collective memory.

On August 13, 2025, Beaconhouse National University met Dr. Kevin Greenbank, Vice-President of Wolfson College, Cambridge, to discuss collaboration. The meeting included Dr. Tahir Kamran, Dr. Zainab Ahmed, and Vice Chancellor Dr. Moeed Yusuf, highlighting BNU’s commitment to global academic partnerships and sustained international scholarly exchange across disciplines.

On August 3, 2025, the National Commission on the Rights of Child (NCRC) launched two pivotal reports—The State of Children in Pakistan 2024 and Situation Analysis of Children from Minority Religions in Pakistan. Dr. Tahir Kamran participated in the dynamic panel, highlighting the historical marginalization of minorities and persistent biases in the national curriculum, fostering critical discussion among government officials, civil society leaders, and academics.

As part of the ongoing Executive Leadership Course at the Maritime Centre of Excellence, Dr. Zainab Ahmed delivered a distinguished lecture on July 14, 2025, alongside Dr. Syed Hassan Akbar and Ambassador Masood Khalid, offering an in-depth exploration of national security and regional strategy and equipping participants with critical insights into power, policy, and strategic decision-making frameworks.

On July 13, 2025, at Filmcentrum Riks in Stockholm, scholars and artists convened for “78 Years of South Asian Partitioned Voices,” an international workshop curated by Nordic Mela. The event fostered critical dialogue across borders, challenging divisive rhetoric surrounding India-Pakistan tensions and reimagining Partition narratives through solidarity and creativity collectively.

On October 22, 2024, the Seeta Majeed School of Liberal Arts & Social Sciences (SLASS) at BNU held a successful book launch event and panel discussion for Prof. Dr. Tahir Kamran's new work, Chequered Past, Uncertain Future: The History of Pakistan.
