Dr. Tahir Kamran Speaks at Lahore Museum Panel on Partition and Migration

On 23 August 2025, the Lahore Museum History Society hosted Lecture 3, Partition and Migration, part of the series From Partition to Constitution: Unfolding the Making of Pakistan, featuring Dr Tahir Kamran and fellow scholars in a rigorous discussion on Partition, migration, and Pakistan’s historical formation and collective memory.

The panel comprised Prof. Dr. Tahir Kamran, Dr. Nayyar Abbas (Assistant Professor of History, GCU), and Adnan Tariq (Assistant Professor, Department of Archive Studies, GCU), with Komal Buttar, Museum Education Officer at the Lahore Museum, moderating the session. Speakers offered analytically rich reflections on lived experiences of displacement and nation-building.

The discussion proved insightful and intellectually engaging, allowing participants to critically examine how migration narratives and historical memory continue to shape Pakistan’s socio-political identity. Audience members gained a deeper, more nuanced understanding of this pivotal historical moment and its enduring relevance in contemporary discourse.
