Liberal Arts student Hania Imran has secured a prestigious $5,000 grant from the Re-Earth Initiative after a highly competitive international process involving more than 1,900 applicants. The award will support a climate camp project through Youth Climate Activists Pakistan (YCAPK), an organization she founded and leads, marking a significant milestone for youth-led climate action in Pakistan.
In 2025, Hania completed a four-month scholarship at the Tilting Futures: Environment & Sustainability program in Penang, Malaysia, where she was selected from over 18,000 applicants for a $21,000 fully funded experience. She collaborated with the Penang Green Council and Maitree, examined regional climate policy, and explored the use of VR/AR technologies in climate storytelling through expert-led sessions.
Hania’s global engagement extends to Austria, where she earned academic credits through Johannes Kepler University during the fully funded Festival University 2022 “Welcome to Planet B”, selected among 200 students from 900+ applicants. Her outstanding contributions—including dual final projects, research presentations, and exhibition leadership—reflect an inspiring commitment to climate advocacy, leadership, and interdisciplinary innovation.
