IEDAs | A Journal of Transdisciplinary Practices in Art & Design | Annual

IEDAs

IEDAs is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access journal showcasing emerging and established practices that operate beyond disciplinary boundaries. It invites contributors to reflect critically on how transdisciplinary practices can reframe knowledge, collaboration, and lived experience. Working across media, disciplines, and geographies, IEDAs supports a diverse range of submissions, highlighting practice-as-research as a valid mode of knowledge-making.

IEDAs Journal is an initiative of the Inclusion Through Art program at BNU, and benefits from the guidance of an international editorial board and an active advisory council. It is made possible through the support of the South Asia Foundation and Madame France Marquet, whose continued commitment to regional collaboration and cultural dialogue underpins this project.

Call for Submissions - IEDAs Vol. II

The UNESCO Chair on Inclusion through Art at Beaconhouse National University (BNU) is pleased to inform you that submissions for Volume II of IEDAs: A Journal of Transdisciplinary Practices in Art and Design are open.

This issue, titled “Intersectionality: Creative Inquiries,” invites contributors to explore the crossings of ideas, identities, and disciplines through creative practice, critical thought, and collaboration. We welcome contributions that question boundaries, unsettle singularities, and imagine intersectionality as a creative inquiry in itself. As we navigate the layered realities of our time, we ask:

What happens when ideas, identities, and disciplines intersect?
Can intersectionality become a method of making, thinking, and being in relation?
How might creative practices act as laboratories for testing intersectional thought, where aesthetics and ethics meet?

Possible formats include text-based works (research papers, essays, dialogues, manifestos), multimedia works (visual/media essays, sound explorations, design case studies, culinary narratives), and hybrid projects that merge text, visuals, and media to reflect the journal’s transdisciplinary spirit. All submissions will undergo peer review.

Abstract submission deadline: November 24, 2025
Notification of acceptance: December 12, 2025
Final submission deadline: February 3, 2026
