The Department of Management Sciences at BNU hosted an engaging session on “East Asian Miracle: Was Growth in East Asia Really a Miracle?” led by Prof. Dr. Abdul Farooq, Professor at the School of Economics and Finance and Deputy Director of CEPD at Minhaj University Lahore. With over 30 years of teaching and research experience, he offered students a deep understanding of East Asia’s economic transformation.
During the session, Prof. Dr. Farooq examined the rapid economic growth of East Asian nations, exploring the policies, social structures, and global factors that contributed to their success. Students gained the tools to critically analyze economic data and differentiate between strategic planning and circumstantial advantages.
The discussion encouraged participants to think analytically about development strategies, evaluate comparative economic models, and reflect on lessons that could be applied in other emerging economies.
By bridging theory with real-world examples, the session inspired students to approach economic growth studies with curiosity, critical thinking, and a nuanced understanding of global development trends.
