The Second Sahafi Summit, organized by the School of Media and Communication (SMC) at BNU in collaboration with Media Matters for Democracy and the Association of Media and Communication Academic Professionals (AMCAP), brought together a wide spectrum of voices from Pakistan’s journalism landscape for a vibrant and timely discourse.
The event featured a dynamic mix of participants, including seasoned journalists, editors, media educators, students, and media consumers. It served as a vital platform for addressing pressing issues in Pakistan's media industry and fostering open dialogue across professional and academic circles. Prominent journalists Talat Hussain and Mehmal Sarfraz were among the featured speakers. Their sessions provided valuable perspectives on the evolving role of journalism in society, the importance of press freedom, and the responsibilities of the media in a digital age. Through a series of panels, discussions, and interactive sessions, the summit highlighted both the challenges and opportunities facing the industry today. It reaffirmed the importance of collaboration between academia and the media sector in nurturing ethical journalism and informed public discourse.
