The Mariam Dawood School of Visual Arts and Design at Beaconhouse National University proudly hosted Nothingfest, a three-day interdisciplinary festival organized under the UNESCO Chair on Inclusion through Art, led by Chairholder and Dean Rashid Rana, bringing together artists, thinkers, and audiences to explore absence, meaning, and creative inquiry.
Nothingfest featured a rich program of panel discussions and talk-shops with renowned social activists, national and international artists, and influential cultural figures. These sessions fostered critical dialogue on art, society, and inclusion, encouraging participants to reflect on contemporary challenges through diverse artistic and intellectual perspectives.
At the heart of the festival was the Nothingfest Exhibition, curated by MDSVAD faculty member Ahmad Faizan Naveed, which examined the theme of VOID through art, design, and performance. The exhibition and accompanying conversations highlighted MDSVAD’s commitment to creativity, inclusivity, and critical engagement, reinforcing its role as a leading platform for artistic discourse in the region.
