Ms. Aatiqa Sheikh Speaks on Heritage Education at LUMS

Ms. Aatiqa Sheikh, Assistant Professor and Program Coordinator for the MA in Art Education at BNU, was invited as a guest speaker at LUMS to deliver a talk on Heritage Education in Pakistan. She highlighted the importance of integrating cultural diversity and inclusive curricula into educational frameworks.

Drawing on her experience with UNESCO- and World Bank-led heritage education projects in Punjab, Ms. Sheikh shared key insights into the value, opportunities, and challenges of such initiatives. She emphasized their critical role in promoting tolerance and countering extremist narratives in society. The session concluded with an engaging Q&A with students from the School of Humanities & Social Sciences, sparking thoughtful discussion on the future of heritage education.
