Ms. Nayab Tariq Bajwa, Program Head of Hospitality Management at the School of Management Sciences (SMS), represented Beaconhouse National University at the prestigious Tropical University Summit 2026 and Deans’ Forum on Tourism Education Cooperation, hosted by Hainan University, China
Facilitated by the BNU Office of Academic Partnerships, the visit marked a significant step in advancing the university’s active Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Hainan University and strengthening international academic collaboration.
During the summit, Ms. Bajwa engaged in high-level discussions with global academic leaders and the Dean of Hospitality and Tourism at Hainan University. These interactions focused on fostering meaningful partnerships and identifying opportunities to enhance hospitality and tourism education through international cooperation.
A key outcome of the visit was progress toward establishing structured 2+2 dual-degree transfer pathways, credit alignment mechanisms, and student and faculty mobility frameworks. These initiatives are expected to create valuable academic and professional opportunities for BNU’s hospitality students while strengthening cross-border educational exchange.
The engagement also explored the integration of emerging global trends into the Hospitality Management curriculum, including sustainable tourism practices and technological innovation. By incorporating these contemporary developments, BNU aims to equip students with the knowledge and skills needed to thrive in an increasingly dynamic and globally connected hospitality industry.
