M. Nasir Ali Mazari is an award-winning documentary filmmaker and Assistant Professor at BNU’s Department of Theatre, Film & Television. With 13+ years of teaching and creative practice, he integrates storytelling, cinematography, and pedagogy, guiding students while earning international recognition for festival-screened films and innovative visual storytelling projects.
M. Nasir Ali Mazari is an award-winning documentary filmmaker, visual storyteller, and academic currently serving as Assistant Professor in the Department of Theatre, Film & Television at the School of Media and Mass Communication, Beaconhouse National University. With over 13 years of combined teaching and creative practice, he brings a distinctive blend of artistic vision, technical expertise, and pedagogical insight to his work. Mazari is internationally recognized for his creative collaborations and festival screenings, offering students a global perspective on film, media, and visual storytelling.
At BNU, he leads courses in film, photography, and documentary studies at both undergraduate and graduate levels, supervises student productions and final-year theses, and continually innovates the curriculum to reflect evolving international industry standards. Previously, he served as Assistant Professor at the University of Central Punjab and as Lecturer at BNU, mentoring student projects that received national acclaim. His teaching emphasizes the integration of theory, practical skills, and creative exploration to prepare students for professional and artistic careers in media.
Mazari’s creative work spans documentary filmmaking, cinematography, screenwriting, and production. His films have been recognized at prestigious festivals and competitions, including the SDGs Short Film Challenge (2025), Human Environment Care Festival Canada (2024), Dada Saheb Phalke Awards (2019), Zero MM South Asian Film Festival (2019), and the LUMS International Film Festival (2012), where he won a national film award.
