Muhammad Aarez Ali is an architect and educator focused on integrating structural understanding with design pedagogy. He leads large-scale residential and mixed-use projects through his practice, Aarez Ali Atelier. His research explores analytical approaches to teaching architecture and climate-responsive design, emphasizing sustainable, context-driven solutions within contemporary architectural education and practice.
Muhammad Aarez Ali is an architect and educator, currently serving as an Assistant Professor at the Razia Hassan School of Architecture, Beaconhouse National University (BNU), Lahore. He earned his Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch) from BNU (2005–2010), where he was recognized on the Dean’s Honor List on multiple occasions for academic excellence. He is presently pursuing a Master of Science in Project Management at Superior University, Lahore.
Aarez is a registered architect with the Pakistan Council of Architects and Town Planners (PCATP), holding license number A-05145. His academic and professional trajectory, spanning over a decade, reflects a sustained engagement with architectural education, structural design, and the evolution of pedagogical methodologies. His teaching philosophy advocates for a critical shift from purely quantitative approaches to architectural structures, toward a more analytical, case-based, and conceptually integrated pedagogy.
He has held teaching appointments at several prominent institutions, including Beaconhouse National University, the Institute for Art and Culture (IAC), NFC Institute of Engineering and Technology, and Bahauddin Zakariya University. Across these platforms, he has led architectural design studios at all academic levels and has taught a range of technical courses, including structural systems, geometry, and advanced construction techniques.
Alongside his academic practice, Aarez has maintained an active professional portfolio. As the Principal Architect of Aarez Ali Atelier and Lead Project Architect at Noor Khan Design Studio, he has overseen the design and execution of numerous high-rise residential and mixed-use developments across Lahore, Multan, and Islamabad. His notable projects include Royal Saif Towers, Canal Residence, and Emirates Enclave—demonstrating a deep engagement with the design and management of complex urban-scale projects.
His early professional experiences at Eyries Associates and Ahsan Farhan Associates contributed to his understanding of architectural interiors, educational spaces, and collaborative practice. His scholarly interests center on climate-responsive architecture and rethinking architectural education, both of which are reflected in his published research and active participation in academic conferences.
