Sheza Naeem earned her BSc in Applied Psychology from BNU, researching belief systems in Pakistani youth. Her work was presented at conferences and fueled her interest in group behavior. She later completed a Fulbright-funded master’s in Applied Psychology at NYU, specializing in school counseling.
Sheza teaches undergraduate courses in school psychology, developmental psychology, and cognition. Her academic interests include implicit bias, adolescent mental health, and the intersection of culture and psychological functioning. Her approach emphasizes applied learning, critical thinking, and real-world relevance, often integrating case studies, creative assessments, and student-led inquiry.
Her professional experience includes working in New York City public schools with diverse adolescent populations, particularly immigrant and low-income students. This background informs her research and pedagogy, anchoring her work in both cultural awareness and psychological support.
Sheza is also passionate about public psychology and educational access. She is working on developing community-facing programs that introduce youth to the field in engaging, accessible ways. Through both teaching and outreach, she is committed to building psychological literacy and empowering students to use psychological insight to navigate the world.
