Sharmeen Tariq is an environmental strategist, CEO of Umbrella Consulting, and Adjunct Faculty at BNU’s SLASS. With nearly two decades of experience, the AWS-accredited specialist leads initiatives in water stewardship, climate action, ESG reporting, and carbon footprinting, bridging environmental theory and real-world practice across communities, government, and global industry.

Bio

Sharmeen Tariq is Adjunct Faculty in Climate and Sustainability Studies at BNU’s SLASS, an environmental strategist, and CEO of Umbrella Consulting. With an MS in Environmental Science and Management and accreditation as an Alliance for Water Stewardship (AWS) Specialist, she brings nearly two decades of experience in water stewardship, climate action, ESG reporting, carbon footprinting and stakeholder engagement. Her work spans communities, government and industry, including organizations such as PepsiCo, Nestlé, Adidas and Core Alliance. Her teaching draws on this extensive field experience to connect environmental theory with real-world questions of sustainability, power, development and people.
