Saadia Ahmed is a Gender and Media scholar from Curtin University, Western Australia. She holds extensive global experience in teaching, research, and theatre. Her teaching pedagogy lies at the cusp of indigenous and global theoretical and practice perspectives.

Bio

Ms. Saadia Ahmed is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Theatre, Film & Television at the School of Media and Mass Communication. She is a media scholar and researcher with expertise in feminist studies, digital humanities, and contemporary media practices. Currently, she is pursuing a PhD in Media, Creative Arts, and Social Inquiry at Curtin University, Perth, Australia, where her research focuses on the gendered harassment of Pakistani women public figures on social media.

Dr. Ahmed has extensive experience in teaching, research, journalism, podcasting, and creative arts, bridging scholarly inquiry with public engagement. She teaches and mentors students across media, creative arts, and social inquiry programs while contributing to international research, publications, and public discourse. Her work spans feminist media studies, internet studies, digital intimacies, and digital hostility.

She is also an accomplished podcaster, journalist, and performer, with her work featured in international journals, book chapters, and media outlets. Dr. Ahmed’s scholarship combines rigorous research with practical engagement in media, public policy, and creative storytelling.
