Bakht Noor serves as Adjunct Faculty at BNU’s SLASS. Holding an MPhil from Balliol College, University of Oxford, and a BA with High Distinction from LUMS, she is a researcher and historian specializing in modern South Asian history, gender, archival studies, and digital public history projects.

Bio

Bakht Noor is a researcher, historian, and educator serving as Adjunct Faculty at the Seeta Majeed School of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences (SLASS), Beaconhouse National University (BNU), Lahore. Her research focuses on modern South Asian history, gender and society, archival studies, and interdisciplinary historical methodologies.

Bakht holds an MPhil in Modern South Asian Studies from Balliol College, University of Oxford, where she conducted primary archival research on the Pakistan Women’s National Guard (PWNG). She completed her BA (Hons) in History at Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS), graduating with High Distinction, a 3.83 CGPA, and multiple placement awards on the Dean’s Honour List.

In addition to her academic work, Bakht has extensive experience in teaching, academic writing mentorship, economic policy analysis, and digital humanities. She has served as an Associate Sector Analyst for Profit by Pakistan Today and worked as a Research Assistant on major public history projects, including an educational documentary on the River Ravi screened at the Yale Workshop on Water and Climate Justice and the Lahore Biennale, as well as Pakistan’s first digital archive on the 1971 Bangladesh War.
