Dr. Qaisera A. Sheikh is presently working as Adjunct faculty in the School of Education at Beaconhouse National University, Lahore. She has PhD in English with a specialization in Applied Linguistics from University of Education, Lahore. She obtained her B.A. Honors and M.A in English language and Literature from Kinnaird College for Women and the University of Punjab and got first position in both examinations. She got a British Council Scholar Award for doing Master in Applied Linguistics from the University of Edinburgh, U.K.
Dr. Sheikh has a vast experience in teaching English language, Literature and Linguistics at the undergraduate and post-graduate levels. She has been actively involved in teacher training as Head, Department of Teacher Education at Beaconhouse National University, Lahore and as Head of the Department of ELT and Applied Linguistics at Kinnaird College for Women, Lahore.
Dr. Qaisera Sheikh has published research papers in books and journals. She was among the team of authors for a book titled Teaching Human Rights through English Language Education, published by Oxford University Press. She has organized and participated in national and international conferences in the field of Language, Literature and Education. Her research interests include Applied Linguistics, Semantics, Pragmatics, Phonetics and Phonology and the analysis of discourse used by Pakistani writers writing in English.
