Dr. Muhammad Umar Farooq is a finance academic with over 15 years of experience in academia, research, and industry. He has worked in the UK and Pakistan, with expertise in green finance, financial markets, and agri-tech. His research has been published widely, and he specializes in participatory methods and executive training.

Bio

Dr. Muhammad Umar Farooq is an academician with over fifteen years of experience in academia, research, and industry. He was previously associated with The James Hutton Institute in the UK as a Senior Research Scientist in Green Finance, where he developed the FENS Framework to evaluate investments in natural capital and land management. He also worked on a project funded by the Macaulay Development Trust and SEFARI. Prior to his time at Hutton, Dr. Umar worked in the higher education sector in Pakistan.

Dr. Umar holds a doctorate in Finance, a Master's in Business Economics, and an MBA. His areas of interest include green finance, financial markets, agri-tech, and macroeconomics. He has demonstrated research expertise through several research papers published in high-impact journals and has presented his work at conferences across Europe. Dr. Umar is proficient in both qualitative and quantitative research methods, start-up mentoring, and business case analysis, with a focus on participatory research and stakeholder engagement. He also has experience in executive training, particularly in FNFM.
