Dr. Ghulam Ghouse (PhD) is an Associate Professor of Economics at BNU. With a PhD in Econometrics from PIDE, his expertise spans financial modeling, AI-driven analytics, and policy research. He has extensive teaching, research, and consultancy experience, contributing to economic development and innovative curriculum design at leading institutions.

Bio

Dr. Ghulam Ghouse (PhD) is an Associate Professor in the Department of Economics at the School of Management Sciences, Beaconhouse National University (BNU). He holds a PhD in Econometrics from the Pakistan Institute of Development Economics (PIDE), Islamabad, where his research focused on refining the ARDL model as a remedy for spurious regression. His academic journey includes an MPhil in Econometrics from PIDE and an MA in Economics from the University of Punjab, equipping him with a strong foundation in microeconomics, macroeconomics, statistical modeling, and data visualization. With expertise in applied econometrics, financial modeling, and time series analysis, Dr. Ghouse has contributed significantly to research on economic linkages, financial markets, and predictive analytics.

Dr. Ghouse has extensive teaching and research experience, having served as an Assistant Professor at the University of Lahore before joining BNU. He has also been a visiting faculty member at prestigious institutions such as Quaid-e-Azam University and BNU, teaching courses on Econometrics, AI-driven data analytics, and programming languages like Python and R for economic applications. Beyond academia, he has worked as a data analyst and research associate in various capacities, including projects on mutual fund performance in Saudi Arabia at La Trobe University, Australia, and financial data analysis at private firms. His consultancy roles for the Punjab Planning and Development Board reflect his commitment to policy-oriented research, having contributed to the Punjab Growth Strategy 2028 and the Punjab Public Expenditure Review.

As an academic and researcher, Dr. Ghouse is dedicated to bridging the gap between theoretical econometrics and real-world applications. His work emphasizes leveraging data science and computational tools to solve economic challenges, making significant contributions to curriculum development and student mentorship. At BNU, he continues to inspire the next generation of economists by integrating innovative research methodologies with practical learning, fostering a dynamic and interdisciplinary academic environment.

Thesis Supervision

He has supervised numerous research theses, guiding both PhD and MPhil students in the field of economics. His doctoral supervision includes five PhD candidates, with research topics ranging from monetary policy frameworks and macroeconomic stabilization to environmental determinants of human health and green economic growth. Two of these PhD theses have been submitted for evaluation, while others are in progress. Additionally, he has mentored ten MPhil students, overseeing diverse research areas such as fintech, financial stability, stock market co-movements, inflation dynamics, and the socio-economic determinants of terrorism.
