SMC Takes Urdu Journalism Students Inside the World of Radio and Television

The students of BS Journalism (Urdu) at the School of Media and Communication, Beaconhouse National University (SMC BNU) embarked on an insightful academic visit to Radio Pakistan and Pakistan Television (PTV) as part of their Urdu Language course turning theory into real world learning.

The class began inside Radio Pakistan, where students explored the rich legacy and modern advancements of Urdu journalism. They witnessed the evolution of broadcasting, observed professional recording setups, and learned about the integration of traditional and digital media technologies.

Later, students visited PTV Headquarters, where they gained first hand exposure to the television production process. From exploring multiple studios to understanding the technical working of the Panel Control Room, the visit provided an immersive understanding of how television journalism operates behind the scenes.

Adding to the excitement, students had the opportunity to meet Ms. Juggan Kazim (Host, PTV Home) and Mr. Qaiser Sheikh (GM PTV), who shared valuable insights from their professional experience in the media industry.

This collaborative learning experience offered students a deeper appreciation of the history, evolution, and technical aspects of Urdu journalism, reinforcing SMC BNU’s commitment to experiential and industry-integrated education.
