Saadia Shahzad, an MPhil Linguistics and TESOL (Semester 3) student at Beaconhouse National University’s School of Education, has reached a significant academic milestone with the publication of her research paper titled "A Speech Act Analysis of Taglines of Brands to Identify Their Cultural Identity." Her work appears in the Journal of Applied Linguistics and TESOL, a renowned peer-reviewed journal in the field.

Published in the journal’s latest volume (7/4) on December 25, 2024, the paper spans pages 275–308. It explores the linguistic strategies employed in brand taglines across five industries, highlighting persuasive directives as the dominant sub-illocutionary act.
