The School of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences (SLASS) is holding its annual ‘History and Society 2025’ (2nd edition) conference on April 22, 2025. Starting at 10am with an inaugural speech by Dr Tahir Kamran (HoD), at the SB Auditorium, the one-day conference is featuring noted national and international speakers.
While the keynote speech will be delivered by Dr Saeed Shafqat (FCCU), the first panel titled, Turbulence in the Rimlands of Pakistan, will feature Rajaa Sahgal (Oxford), Qalandar Bux Memon (FCCU) and Ghazi Ghazan Jamal (former MPA Orakzai). The second panel on the theme of ‘World in Chaos’ consists of Dr Oroub el-Abed (Birzeit University) and Oleksandr Kyselov (Uppsala University). Both will join online. In the last panel, titled, ‘The Future of Humanities in the Academic Landscape of Pakistan’, four DLA students: Kanza Haroon, Umer Adnan Butt, Zubda Butt, and Manal Shahbaz will speak.
