Beaconhouse National University (BNU) successfully hosted its Summer School 2025 this June, welcoming enthusiastic participation from teenagers across Pakistan. Designed to offer a dynamic and interdisciplinary learning environment, the program introduced students to a wide range of subjects including literature, history, art and design, artificial intelligence, and financial literacy.
A major highlight of the program was China Fest 2025, which served as a vibrant forum for cultural and academic exchange. The event featured an engaging presentation by an official Chinese representative, delving into the rich tapestry of Chinese history, philosophy, language, and visual arts. The session sparked lively discussion among students and faculty, underlining the importance of global perspectives and reaffirming BNU’s commitment to international understanding through experiential learning. In collaboration with Friedrich Ebert Stiftung (FES), the BNU Center for Policy Research (BCPR) launched a two-day initiative titled Young Ambassadors for Unity in Diversity. The program welcomed A-Level, O-Level, and intermediate students from a variety of educational backgrounds, aiming to foster civic engagement and promote social harmony. Opening remarks were delivered by Dr. Zainab Ahmed (BCPR) and Mr. Zaeem Yaqoob Khan (Directorate of Student Affairs and External Relations), who emphasized BNU’s dedication to youth empowerment and inclusive dialogue. The initiative featured a range of intellectually enriching sessions. Dr. Ahmed led a discussion on Curating the Civic Minds, followed by a panel with Neha Qasim and Manal Shehbaz, and a session on interfaith harmony with Dr. Waqas Sajjad. Additional highlights included Dr. Rabia Noor’s talk on The Role of Media in Shaping Young Minds and a virtual lecture by Hassan Tauseef on Rawalpindi’s pre-partition architecture. The program concluded with mindfulness exercises led by Ms. Sheza Naeem, closing reflections, and a spirited Q&A session that showcased the students' engagement and curiosity.
