On February 19, 2025, BNU Center for Policy Research (BCPR), in collaboration with the School of Media and Communication at BNU, organized a workshop under the 10th MCAP Conference titled "Effectively Using Trilateral Cooperation—Pakistan, Afghanistan, and China—to Promote Mutual Understanding and People-to-People Exchange."
Experts from academia, media, and policy circles discussed the impact of disinformation on regional connectivity and the need for stronger policy frameworks to safeguard national interests. The panel featured distinguished experts, including Dr. Tahir Kamran, Head of the Department of Liberal Arts at BNU; Dr. Zainab Ahmed, Assistant Professor at BNU and Research Fellow at BCPR; and Ambassador Nazir Hussain, President of the Pakistan-China Joint Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Additional insights were provided by Dr. Asif Amin (CSSPR, University of Lahore), Dr. Anjum Zia (Dean, UMT), Dr. Altaf Ullah Khan (FCCU), security analyst Mr. Amir Rana, and prominent journalists Mateen Haider, Hafeez Ullah Niazi, and Habib Akram. The discussion underscored how disinformation shapes narratives, fuels uncertainty, and influences regional partnerships. Experts highlighted the vital role of media, strategic policymaking, and trilateral cooperation in strengthening regional connectivity. The session reinforced the importance of collaboration in countering misinformation and fostering meaningful diplomatic engagement.
