The BNU Center for Policy Research (BCPR) partnered with the Sustainable Development Policy Institute (SDPI) to host a joint session during SDPI’s 27th Sustainable Development Conference on November 7, 2024. The session, themed “Environmental Conflict and Social Dialogue,” brought together experts to discuss critical issues at the intersection of environment and social cohesion.
The session was chaired by Dr. Mukhtar Ahmad, Chairman of the Higher Education Commission, and moderated by Dr. Zainab Ahmed, Research Fellow at BCPR and Assistant Professor at the School of Social Sciences, Beaconhouse National University. Esteemed panelists included Prof. Dr. Arshi Saleem Hashmi, Dean at the National Defense University Islamabad; Ms. Imrana Tiwana, Head of Climate Change, Environment, and Sustainability Initiative; Dr. Rafi Ammiruddin from COMSATS Islamabad; and Mr. Qazi Saqib Bashir, Head of Programs at Muslim Aid. This collaborative effort highlighted the importance of social dialogue in resolving environmental conflicts and fostering sustainable development. The session exemplified BCPR’s ongoing commitment to addressing global challenges through interdisciplinary collaboration and informed discussions.
