Demonstrating its institutional commitment to low-emission infrastructure and climate-resilient planning, BNU introduces electric carts and bicycles to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and promote sustainable mobility. This initiative reinforces BNU’s long-term commitment to climate action, environmental sustainability, and the development of a model low-emission academic ecosystem.
BNU, with support from Times Ceramics and Bank of Punjab, has launched two electric carts and 50 bicycles to promote non-motorized, zero-emission commuting. A comprehensive carpooling policy for students and faculty will be officially implemented across campus starting Fall 2025, further advancing BNU’s efforts to reduce vehicular emissions and promote shared, low-impact commuting. These steps are part of BNU’s broader green mobility plan aimed at reducing the campus carbon footprint and advancing sustainable practices.
