Sana Aziz is a jewelry designer, educator, and entrepreneur, leading her brand, Sana Aziz – Designer Jewellery. She specializes in handcrafted silver jewelry, reimagining traditional craft techniques. With over a decade of collaboration with artisans, she is passionate about preserving local jewelry vernacular and integrating it into education and design.
Sana Aziz is a Jewelry Designer and Educator, currently serving as the Program Head of Foundation Studies at the Mariam Dawood School of Visual Arts and Design (MDSVAD), Beaconhouse National University. She is a Senior Assistant Professor with extensive experience in both academia and the jewelry industry.
She holds a Bachelor’s (Hons) degree in Jewelry and Metal Design from the University of Dundee, Scotland, and a Master’s in Art Education from BNU, for which she was awarded a Gold Medal and Distinction. Her academic achievements highlight her commitment to excellence in both design and education.
Alongside her academic career, Sana is an Entrepreneur and the Creative Head of her jewelry brand, Sana Aziz – Designer Jewellery. She specializes in crafting unique, handcrafted silver jewelry pieces, all made in Pakistan. Her creative practice revolves around re-imagining traditional craft techniques and processes, ensuring that cultural heritage remains at the forefront of contemporary design.
With over a decade of experience collaborating with local artisans, Sana has developed a profound interest in the preservation and evolution of traditional jewelry vernacular. She is actively engaged in research, exploring how local lexicons can be integrated into student learning and artisanal collaboration, fostering a deeper connection between heritage and modern design education.
