Rohma Khan is a multidisciplinary artist, educator, and researcher, leading the IEDA program. Her work spans academia, the development sector, and advertising, exploring historical and futuristic concepts. Showcased globally, she co-founded Provocations – @Fashioning_a_Dialogue, fostering interdisciplinary discourse in art and design through research, collaboration, and creative exploration.

Bio

Rohma Khan is a dynamic multidisciplinary artist, educator, researcher, and Associate Professor, serving as the Programme Head of Interdisciplinary Expanded Design and Art (IEDA). She also holds the prestigious position of Director Programs, UNESCO Chair for Inclusion Through Arts, where she plays a vital role in fostering inclusive and interdisciplinary artistic practices.

With a career spanning academia, the development sector, and the advertising industry, she has forged meaningful collaborations with both local and international institutions. Her work traverses a broad spectrum of disciplines, investigating themes that range from deep historical narratives to abstract futuristic concepts, artifacts, and creative practices. Through her teaching and research, she fosters a cross-disciplinary approach, encouraging dialogue between art, design, and evolving technological landscapes.

Her academic and artistic contributions have been recognized and showcased at prestigious institutions worldwide, including the Memphis College of Art and Design, Kunsthalle Wien in Vienna, the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and The Reach Gallery in Vancouver, Canada. She was also selected to present her research at the 17th Biennale Symposium of the Textile Society of America.

As a dedicated collaborator, Rohma co-founded Provocations – @Fashioning_a_Dialogue, a platform that brings together academicians, researchers, and practitioners to explore, synchronize, and expand the boundaries of art, design, and related disciplines. Through her work, she continues to push creative and intellectual frontiers, bridging historical insights with contemporary and speculative design thinking.
